Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and perform process experiments.
Responsible for integration and qualification of new processes and development of plating processes for future technology.
Conducts research to develop new and improved chemical processes.
Analyzes operating procedures and equipment and machinery functions to reduce processing time and cost.
Designs equipment to hold and apply chemicals in liquid, gas, and solid form.
Directs activities of workers who operate and control such equipment as condensers, absorption and evaporation towers, kilns, pumps, stills, valves, tanks, boilers, compressors, grinders, pipelines, electro-magnets, and centrifuges to effect required chemical or physical change.
Performs tests and takes measurements throughout stages of production to determine degree of control over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
May work at customer sites in setup, repair, and test of equipment.
Trains subordinate employee in the use of equipment.
Develops and completes projects with little or no supervision.
Interacts with customers concerning processes and equipment.
When required, develops processes at customer locations without supervision.
Qualifications:
Prefer candidate familiar with electrochemistry and has a BS or MS in ChemE or equivalent.
Ability to design, run and analyze results of process experiments.
Understands process with the ability to perform process changes and maintain equipment.
Ability to develop and complete projects with little or no supervision.
Ability to develop processes at customer location without supervision.
Ability to give technical presentations to customers.
Project management and limited personnel management is necessary.
Travel required.
