Sahmyook is an SDA private elementary school with and immersion program extending up to the 5th grade. We are now looking for a few motivated teachers to take over for some of our teachers who are returning home.
A bit about the city:
Wonju is a small city or about 300,000 people. It offers excellent hiking trails for the person who loves the outdoors but is close enough to Seoul to offer easy access for day shopping trips. (About 2 hours by train and an 1.5 hours by bus.) It has a large foriegn population due to the army bases, universities, schools, and hogwons offering English programs. There are also several sports facilities, including swimming pools, in the area for those interested in such ammenities. Overall, Wonju gives you a nice balance between city and rural life in Korea.
Details:
- starting pay is 2.1mil a month. (Payed monthly on the 17th, without fail.)
- 27 classes a week. (50 min each in three core subjects)
- Hours are from 8:20-5:00 with the bulk of classes between 9:00 and 2:30.
- Income tax and pension deducted and paid by the employer (without fail)
- Studio housing provided (or 300,000 housing allowance)
- 6 weeks paid vacation (2 Aug, 2 Dec , 2 Feb) as well as all national holidays.
- 50% medical coverage.
- Paid airfare
- Completion bonus = 1 months salary
Qualification:
- A minimum of 3 year Bachelors degree from an accredited university is mandatory by law.
- You must hold a valid passport from an English speaking country as defined by Korean immigration (America, Austrailia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the United Kingdom)
- Previous teaching experience is an asset but not necessary. (There is a support structure in place to help new teachers adjust.)
- A professional attitude and appearence.
