Are you a caring and dedicated English teacher who would enjoy living in a small clean city in South Korea? We have two openings at present. We would really prefer a teacher with experience teaching children.
- Introduction: Our institution was founded in 1996, and it became Yeongju Reading Town in March of 2003.. - Starting Date: ASAP - Salary: Starting at 2,200,000 Korean Won per month with a severance pay equivalent to one-month's salary upon completion of the one-year contract. - Working Hours: 30 hours of teaching and 10 hours of preparation time (total 40 hours) a week. - Overtime: There is an overtime payment of 17,000 K/W per hour for any teaching hours in excess of 30 hours a week. - Classes: You will be teaching mostly elementary school students, but there are also a few classes for middle school students. Classes start at 3pm and finish at 9 pm on weekdays. No weekends! - Staff: We currently have 6 teachers at our school. - Benefits: * Round-trip airfare is provided from a major international airport near the applicant˘®¯s home to the Incheon International Airport in Korea, or a paid visa run to Japan for in-country applicants. ** 11 paid vacation days per year: 3 days each summer and winter break and 5 personal days. *** 3 paid sick days plus all national holidays -about 15 per year. **** 50/50 medical insurance. - Housing: We provide a comfortable furnished studio apartment with all the modern conveniences. Not Shared! - Internet: ADSL Internet connection and email access are available at our school. - Yeongju is a small city of about 130,000 people located 130km north of Daegu. It only takes 2 hours and 15 minutes by express bus to Seoul, which leaves every 30 minutes. It takes about 1 and a half hours to Daegu. Yeongju is located in the heart of Confucianism in Korea, with many famous temples nearby. In addition, it is located very near Andong, which is famous for Korean masks. We must mention that Yeongju is a peaceful city with very clean air and a pleasant river with a jogging/cycling trail. - Qualifications: All applicants must have a B.A. or higher degree. Bilingual (Korean and English) applicants are preferred. Those with a degree in English Education, Elementary/Early Childhood Education or related field are also preferred. We would really prefer an applicant who has worked with children, especially in Korea or Asia. Applicants with experience teaching English to children in other places will also be considered.
