The Language Education Center (LEC) at Chonnam National University, Gwangju, Korea, is now looking for passionate and dedicated instructors who will be available to commence classes on September 1st, 2008 *(although they should arrive 5-7 days before for training and settling in.)
(*some positions may also be available for late August)

1. JOB POSITIONS:
- Full-time Instructors (with varying roles based on experience)
- 20 hrs per week.

- Type 1) 20 teaching hours per week; predominantly involving ¡°Teacher Training¡± & TESOL Programmes; Language Centre classes and freshman credit university classes would be available as overtime hours. 1 hr of TT class = 1.6 regular pay and TESOL = 2 x standard pay, which would accumulate as paid overtime.

- Type 2) 20 teaching hours per week; teaching a mixture of freshman university English classes and adult/university classes.

2. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Native English Speaker.
- Preferably Master¡¯s degree in Education or Languages with ESL teaching certification (TEFL, CELTA, DELTA etc) and ESL teaching experience. (Mandatory for type 1)

3. SALARY
- Basic pay at 2,071,000-2,256,000 won per month depending on experience and qualifications. (Type 1 would probably rise to around 3 million won per month)

4. ACCOMMODATION AND BENEFITS
- On-campus and off-campus semi-furnished single housing, both within a 10-15 minute walk of the office and classrooms.
- Severance bonus upon the completion of the contract.
- Medical Insurance & National Pension: 50% paid by employer.
- Minimum of eight weeks paid vacation per annum.

5. CONTRACT PERIOD
- 12 months, from September 2008.
- Successful applicants would be expected to report by 27th August, 2008.
- Renewable upon agreement.

6. REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR APPLICANTS
- A full resume / CV.
- A cover letter which includes educational background, teaching experience, and teaching philosophy.
- Scanned copies of undergraduate and graduate diplomas.
- A copy of passport (photo/information page.)
- A copy of the Korean alien registration card and information regarding the expiry date of any current contract (if applicable.)
