ABOUT KOREAPOLYSCHOOL
A position at POLY offers the opportunity to help educate the brightest young minds in Korea. We are a highly selective English education institution that focuses on teaching the top students in each district. We specialize in educating students that have lived abroad, but we also nurture those students that intend to live abroad. We test all of our students before enrollment in order to ensure that they can meet the challenge of our curriculum. R&D JOB DESCRIPTION(s)
We are seeking individuals with strong interpersonal skills and work ethic who can contribute to the development of various materials to be used in the POLY curriculum. Experience and knowledge in language acquisition research & development will assist those who are interested in developing and implementing curriculum for academic needs for POLY students. Individuals must be able to work in both a group setting and independently. They must also be organized, open-minded, participate in various events, and initiate and facilitate discussions amongst co-workers. ESL curriculum design & planning, and/or work experience in the ESL field are an asset.
1. Conditions and Benefits
Salaries for all employees will range between 2.8 million Korean won and 3.6 million Korean won. In addition, all employees at POLY receive the following benefits:
• Roundtrip airfare
• Medical coverage
• Monthly contribution to the National Pension Fund, which is equivalent to 4.5% of total monthly compensation
• Two weeks of paid vacation a year in addition to national holidays
• Severance bonus upon completion of contract
• Single, furnished housing (a bed, blanket, pillows, clean linen, washing machine, a landline telephone, air-conditioner, refrigerator, stove, chair, table, wardrobe, television, cooking utensils, and eating utensils)
2. Requirements
-4-year degree from an accredited University/College (Education / English / Communications / Linguistics majors preferred)
-Candidates with formal teaching experience in public or private elementary/secondary schools in North America (or international schools) will be preferred
3. Positions
R&D Writer Position(s):
We are seeking qualified teachers or individuals who have R&D and/or curriculum designing experience to work in our R&D department at the headquarters.
R&D Editorial Position(s):
We are seeking for individuals who have experience as a copyeditor in either publishing, newspaper, or of similar work. Strong grammar skills and a keen eye are a must.
