IEN is an educational partnership including Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE (NMIT), La Trobe University and a Chinese partner to establish IEN English, a network of English language centres across China. Presently in partnership with Shanghai Fisheries university. Facilitate courses in the following areas:
IELTS preparation: Introduce research methods; writing the argumentative essay; table and graph interpretation; writing the process description; reading comprehension; and speaking and listening strategies.
English for Academic Purposes: Foment academic study and time management strategies necessary for students who wish to continue studies at an English speaking university, including independent research methodology; seminar presentation; writing an academic report and essay with appropriate citations and references; academic discourse; evaluation of academic resources; and test-taking strategies.
English for Communication: Provide social skills appropriate for integrating confidently into an English-speaking environment; facilitate discussions to establish fluency in conversation about work, travel or study plans, to argue a perspective, to give a formal presentation, to communicate accurately in formal and informal writing, and to compose questionnaires and respond to interviews.

Temporary assignment, serving as academic director for private language schools that facilitated English classes for International students entering the United States for study at the prestigious Colorado School of Mines and Louisiana Tech University. Hired and trained teaching staff, scheduled classes, reported to Administration on student grades, provided in-service training for teachers, develop the school curriculum. Led classes in reading and writing and oral and written communication in a heuristic, student-focused environment. Objectives included heightened listening skills, computer literacy, research methods, public speaking, analytical and interpersonal communication, and the ability to work in English independently within a native English speaking community.
