RESEARCH: The title of the PhD I have completed is ¡®¡±Mixing Religious Rites with Civil Institutions¡±: Religion and Civil Order in Henry Fielding¡¯s Writings¡¯. While I was a student, I attended the annual BSECS conferences in Oxford University and presented the following papers: ¡®The absence of a good parson in Tom Jones¡¯ (2004); ¡®Religion, Politics, and Henry Fielding (2005); ¡®The Problem of Amelia: Gambling, Religion, and the conversion of Captain Booth (2006). One of these papers, ¡®The absence of a good parson in Tom Jones¡¯, I have developed further in article form and recently submitted for publication in a scholarly Journal. The reviewers have found the article an interesting one, but have advised certain revisions which I am now working on.
