Note: Kristen Zurevinski and Heather Brown would like to work in the same city and share accommodation.
Hello, my name is Kristen Zurevinski and I am from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I successfully completed my high school education and graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, obtaining a bachelor's degree in Sociology. I also hold a 120-hour TESOL certificate with a specialization in teaching children. I would thoroughly enjoy the chance to teach ESL in Asia.
I am particularly interested in teaching in Asia because of the vast and amazing culture that is there to explore. I would really like to learn more about ways of life, history, and art forms; I would also love to learn an Asian language. Living in Asia would present me with vast opportunities, and in the time when I would not be teaching I would love to travel around Asia and explore the different cultures and landscape.
In the past I have taught children of all ages in different capacities. I coached basketball for children aged 6-10 for two summers as well as working in an elementary school for three months as a teacher's aid. I really enjoy working with people and find it very easy to settle into a situation and adapt quickly. I love teaching children because their minds are so fresh and eager to learn and I believe that I have the right motivation and animation skills to teach them English. Beyond motivational skills I am caring and understanding; realizing that learning another language is a difficult process and I will be respectful of this. I have outstanding reference letters from previous employers that will also state that my qualifications match the right personality and skill for the position.
I have been planning on teaching overseas ever since I started my University education. I have an outgoing personality and really love to travel and see new sights; I thrive when experiencing culture shock. I have traveled and lived all across Canada and have visited other places overseas, but have specifically wanted to live in Asia because of its beauty. I am very interested in the art, music, fashion, and breathtaking views that Asian cities have to offer. I would love to be considered for the teaching position you have available, as I am confident that I will be a great teacher for your school.
Please write to me at kris_zur@hotmail.com and I will reply as soon as possible.
Thank you,
Kristen Zurevinski

My name is Heather Brown and I am from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. I graduated from high school in June of 2005 and have completed the 60-hour in-class TESOL course, as well as the 60-hour specialization in teaching children. I greatly wish to find employment teaching English in Asia.
Asia has always intrigued me, because it is very different from North America. Judging by photographs, the land is stunning and plentiful. I strive for new experiences and would like to learn as much as I can about various Asian cultures. While living abroad, I plan on spending my spare time exploring, making friends, writing about my experiences, and learning some of the native language spoken in the place in which I am employed.
I have been a student to many, many people- in school; at summer camp; in voice, piano, cooking, dancing, and swimming lessons, in writing courses; and while being trained at new jobs. Because of this, I have had ample opportunities to observe effective, as well as ineffective, methods of teaching. I am going to be a patient, encouraging teacher, as I realize how difficult it is to learn something completely new. The experience I have had as a role model ranges greatly, including babysitting small children, supervising a weekend retreat for adolescents, and working in a managerial position at a busy restaurant. People are able to trust me easily, as I am a warm and compassionate individual. My sense of humor is also strong, which I believe to be highly important when aiming to captivate students¡¯ attention. Other qualities I will bring to the classroom are fairness, intelligence, and creativity.
The main reason I want to teach overseas is to diminish my naivety about places in the world I have not yet been. I have never left North America, but I believe I will benefit tremendously from a teaching position overseas. I want nothing more than to open my eyes and mind- to gain wisdom, essentially. I am suitable for the job because I am a responsible, passionate, and self-motivated person. I have been looking forward to this for a long time, and believe I am ready to become an ESL teacher. Thank you for your time!
If you e-mail me at forever_heather@hotmail.com I will respond as quickly as possible.
Best regards,
Heather Brown
