Thank you for considering my application. I am a recent graduate and was notified of this opportunity through a posted ad on the Internet.
Having just completed my Graduate Diploma of Education, I am extremely enthusiastic and keen to begin my career as an educator. As you will see in my resume, my teaching disciplines are formally based in Secondary English and Social Sciences. I believe that willingness and ability to adapt existing skills to meet the challenge at hand are crucial strengths for any teacher to possess and are imbedded into the very nature of teaching itself. These are skills I value highly and hope to always be improving upon.
Inclusiveness and support in all aspects of learning are also two main components in my ideal classroom strategy. Individual students need to feel that their input is equally heard and valued to promote self-esteem and ensure that real learning is taking place. As well, students need to feel that they are a part of a community in which their individuality can be expressed while simultaneously addressing curriculum standards. It is the role of the teacher to intuitively gauge the needs of his/her classroom and provide an appropriate range of resources/ activities/ assessment forms to suit different learning styles so that all levels are integrated. It is my hope to demonstrate this kind of awareness in my own classroom.
Within this letter and the attached resume, I genuinely hope to communicate my innovation, ambition and overriding passion for teaching. Thank you for taking the time to view my application.
Sincerely,
Kate Casselman
