Submitted bids by analyzing takeoffs to estimate material and labor costs for tenant interior projects, maintaining a targeted 30% gross margin.
Developed and maintained strategic relationships with clients and vendors to facilitate communication and conflict resolution.
Created takeoffs for glass and aluminum framing based off architectural plans for tenant interior projects then estimating the material and labor according to job specifications. Specifications included: glass type and makeup, aluminum framing system type, and manpower requirements.
Estimated large exterior projects referencing architectural plans and attending scope meetings. Specific functions included: interpreting architectural plans, creating takeoffs with AutoCAD, writing proposals, estimating material and labor costs, contacting vendors and subcontractors for price quotes, verifying snow, wind, and framing tolerances, and abiding building codes.
Worked directly with Sales to provide multi-million dollar budgetary numbers on large exterior projects, collaborating with the Architects and the General Contractor.
Assisted other estimators with large exterior projects by coordinating pricing from vendors and subcontractors and checking their takeoffs to consistently bring projects to a successful finish on time.
Prepared and reviewed project schedules with Microsoft Project, coordinating lead-times with vendors and subcontractors to provide accurate project delivery dates during the bidding stages of a job.
Initiated the making of an estimating training manual, personal price book, and FTP site to assist data distribution and increase workflow.
Generated a spreadsheet using Microsoft Excel to aid in the estimation of large exterior projects. Capabilities included: converting units, listing quantities and sizes of openings, calculating total square foot and perimeter, and creating a final report sheet that totaled data by floor or elevation.
