Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been teacher for the past five years, and have experience in all levels of primary and secondary ESL and subject curricula education. Working with diverse cultures and belief systems has increased my understanding of the delicate and professional demeanor required to work successfully in this type of setting. I have lived and worked for three years in both public and private schools in Bangkok and Ayutthaya, Thailand, and have strong but caring communication skills. I am fluent in Spanish, and speak basic Swedish, Korean and Thai, and understand the challenges of a second language learner.
I am highly motivated, passionate and I take pride in my commitment to education. I truly enjoy helping students advance, and I am a caring and considerate person. Additionally, I have had extensive experience in curriculum development, materials selection, and adaption of existing material to suit the needs of my students. Although I am quite flexible and willing to adapt to any teaching methodology, I have found great success in student centered learning with emphasis on creating dynamic projects and activities to achieve course objectives. I enjoy finding ways to go well beyond the scope of study to create a greater understanding of the concept and increase their confidence.
After obtaining a Bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Oregon, I completed an 80 hour TESOL certification course, as well as attended workshops focusing on business, email and academic writing. I also have a Thai Culture Course certificate, and currently possess a teacherĄ¯s license and work permit.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope to speak with you soon.

Sincerely,
Lisa M. Roberts
