Objective : Teaching French or English abroad
Last year I finished a Master in Law in the University of Lyon, in France and am planning to become an elementary school English and French teacher in two years time in Canada. However, I would like to acquire a work experience before this point in a foreign country. My fiancé and I have the common project of travelling together abroad in order to gain some teaching experience, and then, both of us are going to follow a professional teacher training course at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
My native language is French but half of my family is American and so have learnt English in a natural way from my childhood. I have lived in Scotland for nearly two years with my British boyfriend and am due to sit my IELTS in 3 weeks time in order to prove my competency in English. As well, my level in French is fluent as I am native French speaker and I did all my law study in French University.
I am very sociable and dynamic in the way I conduct my professional life. I like to discover something new everyday and believe that improvement is born from meeting people of different cultures and routines. This is the main reason I choose to move from France to Scotland, this change was the first step of my travelling plan for me. This first travel experience has showed me a lot about the difficulties of adapting to a different culture and language. However, I am even more motivated to travel around the world.
A few years ago, I discovered my ability to teach young people when I started teaching English as foreign language in France to children from 5 to 15 years old. Indeed, I used to help some friends brothers and sisters within a private circle. I am registered as a teacher in ¡°Acadomia¡± and ¡°Complextude¡±, which are both national companies specialising in pupils homework support. As well, I travelled in USA (Reno, San Francisco) to meet the American part of my family, and taught French to my cousin for two months time which developed my patience with children. This was not a major experience, but it helped me to discover my vocation to teach later on.
I would like to go to South Korea for a year. I am looking for a teacher assistant work in English or French, or an internship in a school. Then, I would like an experience which offers me the opportunity to teach to young people, which is ideally the target age group for me.
I am very motivated for this work, so I am looking forward to hear from you.
Kind Regards,
Anne Godefroy
